Guy attended David
Lipscomb University, The University of Tennessee and University of North
Alabama. Guy began preaching in Shelbyville, Tennessee with the Horse Mt.
Church in 1959 and then worded with the El Bethel church in Shelbyville. He began
preaching at Jackson Highway (later renamed Southern Boulevard) in 1964 and
stayed there for twelve and a half years. After that, for the next eighteen and
a half years, he worked with the Weatherly Heights church in Huntsville. For a
short time, he helped in the work at Sparkman Dr. in Huntsville and afterwards
started with the O’Neal church in Athens on April 1, 2000, where he now
preaches regularly. Guy has preached in numerous Gospel Meetings in 16 states
in the USA. Guy and Ann married Dec. 31, 1955. They have two children, Timothy
Philip and Tabitha Ann Schaffer and five grandchildren.
